PopSugar Must Have Box: May 2014

This post is a little late for those who are familiar with this subscription, but I just got home from college and was finally able to share my first impression of the PopSugar Must Have Box for May 2014.

I've had very mixed emotions with the PopSugar Must Have box I received. Although I absolutely love that the subscription includes fitness, beauty, health, etc. items, the reviewers were right when they said that the boxes are a hit or miss. When I researched a few of the previous boxes, some of them had awesome items, while others had mediocre items.

The subscription, in general, is $39.95 per month and includes nicely packaged, six full sized items with a booklet describing each product. These are the items in the May 2014 box. The retail prices I list are the prices I found from different sites via Google.

1. Zing Anything Citrus Zinger | Retail: $17

This item is my favorite in the box. I love adding fruit to my water, and this design is such an awesome way of extracting the juices from fruits directly into the bottle. I also really liked how the bottle is pink!

2. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pool Boy Nail Polish | Retail: $10

I have yet to use this nail polish, but the color is very summer-like and the brand, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, is a well known one. I never wear this type of neon, blue color, so it'll be interesting experimenting with it.

3. Smell Bent St. Tropez Dispenser | Retail: $45

I was a little disappointed with this item because I know that I will not be using this product often. It's labeled as a perfume, but the smell is not really a scent you would want to wear on yourself. I will admit that it does have a very nice mixed scent of the beach and sunscreen, but I would rather use it as an air freshener. I think I'll save it for hot summer days and spray it around the patio and inside the house.

4. Tone It Up! One Day Fat Blast | Retail: $10

PopSugar is making sure that all the subscribers are going to look bikini body ready for the summer! I haven't used this DVD yet, but I think it's a great idea to get a start on working out. I've read a few reviews online that the DVD is good for beginning a routine work out.

5. Kerry Cassill Eye Mask | Retail: $24

I don't really use sleeping masks but the design and feel of the cotton mask is nice. I ended up giving it to my mother since I know that I won't be using it.

6. Hi I'm Skinny Sticks in Multi-Grain Sweet Onion | Retail: $3

This sweet onion snack is actually really delicious! I was very surprised at how savory each piece was.

TOTAL COST OF ALL THE ITEMS: $109

In the end, I was pleased with my first PopSugar Must Have May 2014 box, but did not absolutely love it. The items in the box were much more than the subscription cost, which is definitely a plus, but the items were not exactly what I would have liked. I think that I would have stayed subscribed to experience some of the future boxes, but since the PopSugar boxes are a bit more on the pricier side, I've unsubscribed for now. Hopefully I'll be able to subscribe again soon and the next items will be more in my favor! Click on my link to subscribe to your own PopSugar Must Have Box.

P.S. I got my first month for $29.95 because I had a $10 off coupon. The one I used expired, but many people have been using the code "MODNIQUE" for $10 off. The code will only work for new customers.

FTC: The links I posted are referral links but these are my own opinions and I am not being paid to write about this subscription.
