Today, I'll be reviewing the Clarisonic Mia 2. Clarisonic is very well known for their expensive skin cleaning systems. They have a range of devices with the Mia Fit being one of the newer ones. Since it's a newer product, the Mia Fit is currently much more expensive than the Mia 2- a valid excuse for those interested in purchasing the Mia 2 ;)!

The one that I purchased a while back is the Mia 2 Sea Breeze Soothing Hydration set. The set was on a special deal on Sephora and it came with the device, the charger, a sensitive brush head, a delicate brush head, a plastic travel case, a Kate Somerville Gentle Daily wash, and a First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. (This particular set is gone, so I linked a similar set.)

Before purchasing my Clarisonic, I decided to do some research because of the negative reviews I've seen. Many people have said that the first two weeks after using the Clarisonic would be the hardest, because your skin will "go through a purging phase", which basically means that you'll break out. Most negative reviewers seem to reflect this and stop before getting to the next phase of the process (after the two weeks) which is when your skin will be "the best it has ever been". Personally, I felt like I went through the shortest, or non-exisistent, purging phase. I got two or three pimples, which I would say was actually more of a hormonal thing.

Another key point; my skin is rather dry and sensitive, so I stuck to using the sensitive brush head. *Although this is not from my own experience, I would NOT recommend using the deep pore brushes because of what I read from other reviewers.*

When you first receive your Clarisonic, you're supposed to charge it for 24 hours. The charger is magnetic, so there are no open ports on the device. The brush head that came attached was the sensitive brush head, so I rinsed it off and used that. The Clarisonic is suggested to be used once daily, which has been working for me!

Before using the Clarisonic, I always rinse the brush head (you can twist it off to remove it) and remove my makeup with a makeup removing towelette or cotton ball and micellar water. After that, I wet my face with water to create less traction between the Clarisonic and my face, and squeeze about two dollops of my cleanser directly onto the brush head.

The Clarisonic has a 60 second session; 20 seconds for the forehead, 20 for the nose and chin area, and 10 for each cheek. After completing every section, the Clarisonic will buzz in your hand (it's quite obvious) to let you know that you have to go to the next part of your face.

After the Clarisonic shuts off, I rinse my face off and detach the brush head to wash off the bristles to keep them in prime condition. You do have to purchase the device head every few months (the recommended is every 3 months but I've only had to replace it every 4-5 months). I also clean the inside of the actual Clarisonic, then dry it off with a paper towel. It's completely water proof so don't be afraid to rinse it off!! I try to put the brush head and Clarisonic separately and at an angle on a paper towel to get all the water out and avoid any mold from forming.

Is it worth the money?

I would say, yes. But more so for people who wear makeup on a daily basis. I definitely see the difference between washing my face with only my hands versus washing my face with the Clarisonic! I've been using this for almost a year and I can see that the quality of my skin has improved a lot and it almost seems like it's glowing. I normally do not get crazy blemishes, just the occasional pimple, but I do have blackheads, and I feel like the Clarisonic deep cleans my pores much better than my hand. My blackheads aren't completely gone or anything like that, however, my skin feels a lot cleaner. You can also see the makeup residue on the brush after you've washed your face, which to me, is saying that it works.

All in all, I think the Clarisonic Mia 2 is a great addition to your skincare routine. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, there are many out there, so definitely look into those! I hope you guys enjoyed my super in depth review of the Clarisonic Mia 2. Feel free to message or comment your questions!
For the last month, I've had the amazing opportunity to travel a few countries in Europe- Italy, Malta, Greece and Denmark to be specific. A while back, I placed my order for a Mystery Box from Memebox and it has finally arrived! Even though I had no idea of what products I might be getting, my experience with Memebox and Etude House have been great, so I knew I would be happy with the box!

Memebox is an online store carrying amazing Korean Beauty products, from makeup to skincare to tools! They also have a variety of curated boxes, some of which are "Mystery Boxes". These Mystery Boxes are similar to subscription boxes, like PopSugar Must Have boxes and FabFitFun. You pay first, and they send you products worth equal or more than the cost of the box. For this Mystery Box, Memebox and Etude House collaborated to bring us some of their latest products. For those who are skeptical as to what Etude House is, it is a very well known brand based in South Korea that carries skincare, makeup, beauty tools, and more.

The box has 5 full sized items:

1. Big Cover Concealer Cushion in Mint: $13.20

Let me start by saying- OH MY GOODNESS! I've been needing a new color correcting pen and this is exactly what I wanted!! This cushion concealer is a click pen and dispenses a green concealer into a soft cushion applicator. The application is very easy, although I have to use my finger to really blend it in. It also has SPF 30, which is always a plus, and the formula itself is great! There is a strong baby powder scent, which I actually like, but others may be put off by it.

2. Play Therapy Sleeping Pack in Moist Up: $10.40

This sleeping pack is another product that I've been really wanting to try! Perfect for my super dry skin, this sleeping pack provides incredible hydration and leaves my skin feeling great in the morning. I also really like the light, gel-like consistency that absorbs into my skin nicely, without making it feel greasy.

3. Berry Aha! Bright Peel Boosting Serum: $18.00

This boosting serum/ bright peel works similar to how a toner would work. It has a perfumey berry scent and really refreshes my skin. My skin also felt super smooth after using this. I found that using my hands, rather than a cotton pad, to pat this on my skin works better. I'm hoping to see more long term effects with this.

4. Play 101 Stick: $14.40

Etude House came out with this creamy, contour duo. While the two sides are a bit difficult to blend out, the highlight color is gorgeous! It has a beautiful white/pink gleam that I may actually use on my eyes as well. I think that this particular product will take some time to get used to, but I can see myself really liking it!

5. AC Clinic Intense Mask Sheet: $2.60

Normally, I would have been iffy on considering a sheet mask as a "full size" product, however, since the other items were really good, I won't complain (haha)! I love using face masks, and this is a wonderful addition to my collection. Since this is formulated with Salicylic Acid, I will be saving this for when I get a breakout.

I am quite happy with this Etude House Mystery Box from Memebox. The box cost me $35 and I got $59 worth of items! Not only did I get more than my money's worth, but also, the products were great quality and most of them were items I actually really wanted! I will say that even though I did get more than my money's worth, Memebox wrote that the box would equal $70. Either way, I am very happy!
I've been gone for quite a while because of school and work, but I'm finally done and am an official college graduate!! I did have the chance to try out a lot of new products, and can't wait to share my thoughts with you guys.

I've been seeing the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation everywhere and since I love makeup in stick or "crayon" form, I knew I had to try it. I finally got my hands on it at IMATS New York, and it's been pretty amazing so far. Although my experience with the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Liquid Cover foundation was not the best, the stick foundation is making its way to the top of my favorites list!
I wasn't a real fan of the liquid version, the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Liquid Cover Foundation, because it left my skin flaky and super dry (my skin is normally dry to combination). The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation, however, accommodated my dry skin so much better than the liquid foundation did.

The foundation stick is a completely different consistency (obviously)- it's a solid, thicker, cream foundation. Surprisingly, the foundation stick is super creamy which makes it easy to blend out. Since it is a thicker formula, using a densely packed brush, such as the Artis brush, leaves your foundation looking airbrushed and flawless.
This foundation stick has a medium to heavy coverage (more so on the heavy side), however, the stick application makes it easy to control how much product you use. Since it is on the heavier side, I use this as a foundation for events and nights that I go out. A little goes a long way, so I'll gently swipe two vertical lines on each cheek, once horizontally on my forehead, and use my ring finger to dab some product onto my nose and chin. Also, when I do use this as a foundation, I'll be sure to set it with a translucent powder.

On a more daily basis, I double this foundation stick as a concealer, using my ring finger to pick up product and dab on my dark circles and blemishes. This is probably my favorite way of using the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation.

A few things I want to point out about this foundation:

Someone with oily skin may want to stay away from this product. Even though I have dry skin, I did get a bit oily in the T-zone area after having this foundation on for 6+ hours.

Since this is a stick foundation and the direct skin contact creates opportunity for contamination, I would recommend sanitizing it often with an alcohol spray or alcohol pad.

The foundation stick technically has less product than the liquid foundation (0.44 oz vs. 1.01oz) for the same price, however, I felt that I used less product with the foundation stick.

Overall, I've been really liking this foundation, especially as a concealer, and would recommend it for people with dry skin like myself. I really like how easily it blends out and makes my skin look, and I can see myself buying this again!

Many people forget that there are a few treasure drugstore products too. Here are a few Maybelline products I've accumulated and how I feel about them!
Possibly my ultimate, favorite drugstore product, this dark circle erasing concealer has been my staple since... forever! The twist packaging and sponge applicator is super easy when applying concealer to my under eye area, and the super illuminating product is a great double as a highlighter. I'm not so sure if it literally helps in erasing dark circles, but it is one of my favorite products.
Fit Me Dewy and Smooth in 125 Nude Beige
I picked this foundation up because I needed a dewy and cheap foundation for when I travel. It isn't an amazing product but pretty good, especially for the price. I liked using it with my Beauty Blender as an everyday, light foundation for when I have class or needed to go on errands. I wasn't a fan of the packaging though, especially since the foundation is SUPER liquidity. Overall, it's a good foundation if you need something dewy and cheap, but I've definitely seen better. Beware; there is a lot of transfer with this foundation so try to use a translucent powder! Also, if you have oily skin, you might want to try this foundation in the matte and poreless formula instead.
Although I love doubling up the Instant Age Rewinder concealer as a highlighter, I really wanted to buy a concealer made for highlighting. This is also a twist package (I LOVE TWIST PACKAGING), and makes application super precise and easy. The actual product looks and feels like face paint but I really like it for highlighting! It dries fairly quick so you won't be able to 'bake' with this concealer. By the way, the first time using this will require a lot of twisting, so be patient!
I believe this is a newer product by Maybelline, but I saw a few YouTubers being promoted for it so I thought I'd try it out. This lippie is aimed to giving the perfect ombre or gradient lip and since the gradient lip look has been on the rage in Korea so I had to see if it was actually useful. The pencil part reminds me a lot of crayon but it's actually pretty moisturizing and well made. The other end is this weird plastic smudging tool which is supposed to help 'blur' the product and help you make that ombre effect. When you follow the directions correctly (put the product only in the center of your lips then use the smudging tool to make the gradient effect), it works out okay. Although the actual formula of the product is nice, I'd prefer to use concealer and a regular lip product to create the gradient look.
These were all purchased from CVS, my local drugstore, but I added links from the Maybelline website because I couldn't find all the products on the CVS website. I hope you guys enjoyed my mini Maybelline collection and I can't wait to see how you guys like these products! Till next time!
There are quite a number of regional food vendors that showcase their delicious foods during the Summer and Fall. I honestly can not believe it took me this long to actually go to Smorgasburg but YAY, I get to finally cross this one off the bucket list!
I made a compilation of some of the foods I ate on my Instagram, but here are the full sized pictures of the foods I tried at Smorgasburg. If you happen to go and see these vendors, definitely order! You won't regret it :).
If you're ever in New York City during Smorgasburg season, definitely check it out! The environment was awesome and the food was DELICIOUS! It was a great experience and I'll definitely be going back soon. You can also find more information on their website. Till next time!
Hello everyone! It's been quite a while but I have a bunch of new posts coming out soon!

Today, I want to share with all of you how I save money while shopping online. You've probably seen commercials on TV or even other bloggers raving about this website called Ebates and thought that it was a scam or something. LET ME TELL YOU RIGHT NOW, IT IS NOT A SCAM.

In the time that I used Ebates, which is probably a little more than two years, I've saved $232.50! If you think about it, any amount that you can get back from online shopping is a gift already but Ebates has pretty awesome cash back percentages for stores that you actually shop from.

To use Ebates, you need to sign up with either your Facebook, Google account, or email address. After you confirm your information and pass the security stuff, you set how you want your cash back. You can choose from a literal check that is sent to your home, or a direct deposit into your PayPal account. Since I use PayPal quite often, I opted for that and it has been working very well for me.

This next part is SUPER important in using Ebates correctly so I'll try my best to articulate what to do!

When you're browsing through online stores, we'll use Nordstrom for an example, you search up Nordstrom in the search bar and click on "Shop Now". (Ebates also lists a bunch of coupons and promo codes for you to use as you scroll down that store's page.)

A new tab should open when you click on "Shop Now" with a unique "Tracking ticket or Shopping trip number".

From here, you just shop normally and check out as you would. The most important thing, however, is to stay on that particular tab when you check out. I repeat, check out on that tab that opened up when you clicked "Shop Now". This is the only way that you'll get cash back!!

Realistically 3% or 6% of a $20 purchase is not a lot BUT it accumulates as you use Ebates more and more. I've had a great experience with Ebates in saving a couple bucks here and there, and would recommend it to anyone who shops online! Your big pay day occurs about every three months on a particular day so shop till your fingers fall off and enjoy your cash back!
I've rushed a few organizations and met some incredible people, but Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, was the fraternity that I felt was the best fit for me. I was just initiated, and although the whole experience has been very hectic, it was definitely worth it. As a new brother, I had to make my "big" a paddle, which was a representation of my appreciation for the support and help she provided me through my pledging experience.

The most difficult part in making a paddle was probably designing it. I wanted to stray away from the popular chevron and glitter designs, simply because my big is very artistic and minimalistic. Some big's know exactly what they want, so feel free to ask them if they want anything in particular. My big said anything was fine, and that she just wanted something pretty. I wanted to work with this and since I knew that her favorite animal was a giraffe, I wanted to somehow incorporate a giraffe into the paddle. I started with searching "giraffe" on Pinterest and found many pictures of what I wanted to mimic.

The second most difficult part is choosing a color scheme. When I asked my big if she preferred certain colors, she said a white/creme background and maroon lettering. With this, I went out to look for these colors and planned out what colors I wanted the designs (the giraffe, etc.) would be.

Since pledging was a costly experience, I wanted to save as much as I could on materials. I had acrylic paints, poster stickers, and brushes already, so I only needed to purchase a few things. I wanted to buy spray paint with primer in it, and a small bottle of maroon paint, since I didn't have any. If you're looking for cheaper spray paints and paints, Walmart has very good, cheap ones! Also remember that you can split costs with your fellow pledge brothers. When choosing a paint best suited for your wooden paddle, keep in mind that you want the paint to adhere well to the wood. It's in my experience that water based paint, specifically water based acrylic paint, worked well for me. (It also comes off easily when you get it on your skin!)

Some things I learned in making a paddle includes that you should definitely give yourself at least a week to finish your paddle. You usually need several coats of paint, and painting the background alone can take up to three days complete. I also realized that darker backgrounds, like maroon, black, etc., comes out really nice on paddles.

In the end, the paddle came out differently from what I first hoped it would look like, but I am proud of the outcome. It was a very fun experience, especially since I do not paint often, and I'm glad that I got to work hard on something to give to my awesome big! Enjoy the process in making your paddles, and remember to keep in mind that this is a gift to an important member of your pledging process!
I had a wonderful experience working with Beautylish last year at IMATS so I was thrilled to be a part of the team again. TMSNYC was held in the Metropolitan Pavilion, and the show was specifically geared towards makeup artists, and providing them with the best makeup, tools, and workshops. It was such an wonderful experience meeting and speaking with so many different people from all over the world, and I'm already looking forward to working with Beautylish again in the future!
Beautylish was promoting their new partnership with Bioderma (AHHH!), and is actually the first U.S. company to be partnered with Bioderma! (This means Bioderma is finally accessible in the states and is being sold for a super affordable price!!) Anyways, promoting Bioderma was super fun and easy, especially since I love the product, and because many of the makeup artists attending TMSNYC generally knew about it. The others and I on the Beautylish team were provided lab coats to go with the adorable "pharmacy" theme.

Since the venue was smaller and more crowded, it was difficult to take pictures without being in someone's way. The Beautylish team was also very busy with selling the super popular Bioderma, but I managed to get a few pictures and videos. I wish I recorded more but I hope this super short montage will give an idea of what these makeup shows are like!
All the products at TMSNYC were discounted, so I went a little crazy on stocking up. I'll definitely be doing a review on most of these products, especially the Static Nails and the new Makeup Forever HD foundation.
Long story short, I was supposed to go to Cancun with some friends over break, but the travel agency didn't pay on time so everything (the flights and hotel) got cancelled. To compensate for our lack of plans, my boyfriend, Austin, and I decided to go on a date to Philly (Philadelphia, PA for those who were confused).
We left to Philly later than we hoped but we still got to do most of the things we planned. We started out by going to the ever famous Luke's Lobster for a late lunch, and shared an order of Taste Of Maine, which had a little bit of crab, lobster, and shrimp. It's true that everything was very, very fresh, but we felt that the meal was a bit bland in taste. If you ever go to Luke's Lobster, definitely get the Maine Root Mexican Cola to pair with your meal.

After finishing our mini lunch, we walked to the Mütter Museum, which was super freaky and awesome at the same time. There were fetuses, skeletons, brains, and just all types of things related to the human body. If you can handle gruesome things, I definitely suggest going here! It only took us about an hour to go through everything but it was a very interesting experience. There was no photography allowed, but the website (which I linked) has a little taste of what kind of exhibits they have. Also, if you're a student, it'll only cost 10$, so bring your student ID!

Since we had a light lunch, we were hungry after the museum. (Yup, after looking at those skin crawling exhibits, we were still open to eat.) Austin used Yelp to find somewhere to eat and he discovered a place called Hai Street Kitchen & Co. The thing that lured us in were the "sushi burrito" type rolls they offered. They've been super popular in San Francisco, so we were super excited that Philly actually had it too. We shared the Tataki Salmon rolled in a nori wrap, and added a bunch of toppings. I thought it was good, but I think the idea of a sushi burrito skewed my opinion of it since Austin didn't care for it much. Either way, we both agreed that we'd try it again!
Our sushi burrito made us super full so we shopped around Philly, specifically on Chestnut and Walnut St. We began to wander around since stores were closing and ended up at the Kimmel Center. We were actually about to pass it, but I dragged Austin in because it was such a beautiful and large building. Inside, we overheard a staff member saying that a jazz show was going to begin soon and it turned out to be free, so we went down to where the show was and watched for a bit. We didn't catch the name of the group playing but they were really good! We had to make our dinner reservation so we left early and made our way to Fogo de Chão, a Churrasco (Brazilian steakhouse buffet).
Austin's family took Austin and me to an amazing Churrasco when we went to Utah over the summer, so we had really high expectations for Fogo de Chão. There were all types of meats that the servers sliced in front of us. The bacon wrapped filet mignon and garlic sirloin were the best choices and they melted in my mouth! I was a little disappointed that there were no chicken hearts (don't let the name fool you, it's delicious) and the service was just good, not great. At the end of the meal, we were very content and left with full bellies.
Of course we couldn't end the night without dessert! Austin found a gelato place near the garage that we parked in, and it was fantastic. The place is called Capogiro Gelato and it was rated #1 in National Geographic for being the best ice cream in the entire world! I admit it was pretty darn good, but I'm not too sure about #1. Anyways, they wrote a suggestion to mix Tarocco siciliano (red orange) and Uva verde (grape) on the chalkboard, and it was certainly a delicious combination. Austin got the Moka (mocha) and Vaniglia (vanillia), and he enjoyed that as well. He did say that the Moka did not have a strong mocha taste though.
Today was the last day of my 14-day Bootea Series and I'm very excited to share my final verdict. This has been my first experience with teatoxing, and it was an interesting first experience. To clarify, my main focus in using Bootea wasn't to lose weight, but to feel more refreshed and energized.

Cost

Bootea is averagely priced for a tea, but the shipping has a huge impact on the total cost. I would definitely drink the Daytime tea as a casual tea if the total cost was a bit cheaper. The one I got was the "14 Day Teatox". I did, however, get a 10% discount code via e-mail for a New Year promotion they were having. If you're looking for any types of discounts, you should subscribe to the Bootea e-mail or look for YouTubers with promo codes!

Weight

I dropped two pounds in the past two weeks and I should contribute that to the Bootea. I'd say that I haven't particularly watched my diet or changed my exercise routine, but Bootea made me feel fuller, curbed some cravings, and made me feel a bit more energized throughout the day. The energy the Daytime tea gave me was a very slight push of energy, nothing too crazy.

Would I use Bootea again?

As a tea fanatic, I enjoyed incorporating Bootea into my daily schedule. I definitely feel more refreshed since I have no more bloating or that queasy feeling. I also liked how the Daytime and Bedtime tea were consistent in how my body reacted to them. It's pretty awesome how I lost two pounds from the experience as well. I'd probably use the 14 Day Teatox set again for events where I want to feel more comfortable and fit like ones where I have to wear a dress or bikini. I'll be purchasing my second set of the 14 Day Teatox soon to start teatoxing for Valentine's Day!

Overall, I would recommend the 14 Day Teatox for people who enjoy drinking tea, and want to reduce bloating for an upcoming event where they want to feel comfortable or get more fit. I'll be updating with my future experiences with Bootea, and I can't wait to hear stories about your teatoxing experiences as well!
As promised, I am updating you guys on my second experience with the bedtime cleansing tea.

Before explaining my oh so glamorous rest room experiences, however, I want to say that I was super embarrassed, and even afraid, to publicly write about this part of teatoxing, but I've learned to overcome my shyness so that I can provide the best review I can! Although I'm still a bit choosy with my words and such, I feel a lot more comfortable in expressing myself as real as possible in my posts and that's a huge accomplishment for me.

Now that I got that out of the way, back to the fun stuff! My reaction to the bedtime cleanse was essentially the same as it was the first day. I had 9-10 hours of sleep and woke up from sharp pains in my stomach. It hurt enough to wake me up but only lasted 5 minutes. My restroom visits were the same as the first day, very mild and almost normal. A huge difference would be how I didn't feel anything right after I drank the tea, since my stomach reacted quickly last time. I also didn't have any stomach pains throughout the day like I did on my Day 2.

As for the daytime tea, it's been pretty good in making me feel full throughout the day and I've started to see a decrease in how much I eat. The bloated feeling I had for a few weeks has disappeared, which is a huge plus! I've lost one pound so far but my weight fluctuates like crazy so I'll have to compare my weight from Day 1 and Day 14 to see if there's an actual difference.

After my second encounter with the bedtime cleansing tea, I've come to the conclusion that my reaction to it will remain pretty much the same. If there are no changes on Day 6, I'll have an update by Day 8! Talk to you guys soon!

Hello, hello! Today is my Day 2 of the 14-day Bootea teatoxing. Last night before sleeping, I had a cup of the bedtime cleanse tea, which is supposed to have a laxative effect from the senna leaves.

After finishing my cup of the bedtime cleanse tea, it took less than an hour for my stomach to makes noises and begin to grumble. I didn't have any urges to run to the ladies room, but I began to feel other aspects of the laxative effect. My stomach had it's little grumbling throughout the day, which I slept through since it was very mild.

I woke up in the morning, about 10 hours after drinking the tea (yes, I've been getting a lot of sleep since I have no classes or work!), and felt a very slight urge to use the restroom. I was happy that I wasn't curling in pain or anything like that, but also disappointed that the cleanse was so mild.

I drank the day time tea and felt full/ bloated throughout the day. I did feel more full today than yesterday, though, because of a "backed up" feeling from the bedtime cleanse. Although I personally didn't feel the need to run to the restroom every five minutes, I felt small stomach gas pain throughout the day. SO, I would suggest that you stay home the first time you take the bedtime cleanse tea because it could be worse for you.

For today, the bedtime cleanse was not a super magical product for me since it made me a bit uncomfortable throughout the day and gave a very mild cleansing effect. However, since it's only the first time I've tried it though, and I've read that it was very different for every person, I'm looking forward to see how everything will continue.

As for weight, I'm still at the same number. But again, it's only the second day so... onto Day 3!

I'll be posting when any changes occur and keeping up the same routine. Also, since the bedtime cleanse tea is actually only supposed to be taken every other night, I'll be drinking my regular chamomile tea tonight! Talk to you guys soon!
It's already a few weeks into 2015, but it's never too late to try new things and make goals for the year. I'm a huge tea fanatic and I've been seeing these tea detox, or "teatox", products all around Instagram. I wouldn't mind shedding a few pounds while drinking tea, especially since I've been feeling really bloated from all the holiday dinners!

There are so many different products out there with basically the same effect, so I did a lot of research before choosing which brand to get. After much researching and pondering (via other blogs and YouTube), I purchased a 14-day supply of Bootea for daytime teatox and bedtime cleanse. I've decided to do a "Bootea series" to share my experience with teatoxing.

I specifically purchased the "Daytime Tea (14 days worth)" and the "Bedtime Cleanse Tea (14 days worth)". The tea packages are delivered in a manilla envelope with bubble wrap inside. It took around 5 days for my package to arrive (I live in NJ). The actual tea leaves are enclosed in pyramid tea bags to make it easier for seeping, and the instructions on the packages say that you should steep them for three minutes in "almost boiling water".

I'm going to be weighing myself at least two times a day, take note of what I consume, and also keep track of exercises I did to see my progress.

DAY 1: First Impressions

DAYTIME TEATOX: Many reviewers complained about the smell of the teas, but the smell isn't terrible. I might be more used to these strong herbal scents since I drink a lot of herbal teas though. The closest thing I can compare the scent to would be Chinese medicinal herbs and it'll be easy to get used to. The actual taste of the tea might be off putting for people who do not enjoy tea, but again, it's not that bad! I could see myself drinking this casually.

Throughout the day, I felt a little more energized and wanted to move around and exercise. Maybe it was a placebo effect, maybe not. I'll have to see if this feeling continues through the days. I did my daily stretches and jump-roped with my brother, but nothing too crazy. I also felt more full throughout the day which is really good since I enjoy snacking when I'm bored.

BEDTIME CLEANSE: The bedtime tea has a very strong smell, much stronger than the day time tea. It's basically the same herbal smell except amplified. It was to the point where I actually cringed when I smelled the bed time tea. After steeping, however, the scent became minty and quite pleasant in a strange, soothing way. I was more strict on the steeping time with the bedtime tea because the tea contains senna leaves, which has a laxative effect. (Better safe than sorry!) As for the taste, I actually enjoyed it very much! The tea was slightly minty and calming, perfect for a bedtime drink.

I'm mostly afraid of the laxative effect from the senna leaves, but it's supposed to be mild so I'll suck it up. I'll check in tomorrow night with how everything is going!
All the traveling and exploring I've done was amazing, but there's nothing like being home surrounded by familiar faces. I'm especially excited to embrace my favorite season and refresh my makeup collection with new beauty products. Since wish lists are fun and a great way to organize what you want, here are a few of the beauty products I've really wanted to try. (A lot of these have been around for a while but it's going on this year's fall wish list!)

I was digging through my fridge the other morning and discovered a lonely avocado that I completely forgot I purchased a week ago. Since I was super hungry and had some extra time, I decided to make an avocado and egg bake. I've been meaning to make this super easy and healthy breakfast ever since I pinned it on Pinterest, and was very happy with the result.
The ingredients needed for this recipe are easily obtainable and the recipe is very simple. This recipe can be customized to your choice by adding other veggies, meats, and whatever else you want.

Ingredients (Yields enough for 1-2 people):
1 whole avocado cut in half (Wash the pit and keep it on the side to make a DIY face cleanser!)
2 whole eggs
Pepper and Salt
* You can add other ingredients such as bacon bits, cheese, vegetables, etc.

To begin, preheat your oven to 425 degrees. After doing so, cut your avocado down the middle, separate the two halves, and twist the avocado pit out. (Wash the pit in luke-warm water and keep it on the side for a DIY!) Next, take a spoon and scoop out enough avocado meat so that a cracked egg can fit into the hole without overflowing. I outlined the hole with my spoon before scooping it out to make it easier. You can use the extra avocado meat as a topping for a slice of toasted bread.

If you have a custard cup (that is oven friendly), or a self-made aluminum foil bowl, put each half into it's own bowl. This will prevent the avocados from tilting. Unfortunately, I forgot to do this before putting the eggs into the avocado but now I know!

Now, you're going to crack one of the eggs into a bowl and carefully move the egg into the hole you created by using a spoon, then do the same with the other egg and avocado. I would not recommend cracking the egg directly into the avocado hole because it can overflow and tilt the avocado. I also found that putting the yolk into the hole first, then the egg whites made it a lot easier to avoid popping the egg yolk.

By this time, your oven should be preheated and ready to go. This would be the time where you top off the avocado with any other ingredients, but I chose to keep mine simple because I love the pure taste of avocado. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to each avocado for extra taste, then pop them into the oven for about 15 minutes.
After I took the avocados out of the oven, I waited about five minutes to move them to my plate. They're going to be super hot, so be careful! I ate the remaining avocado meat with toasted bread, and topped off my super healthy and delicious avocado and egg bake with some tabasco sauce for an extra kick of flavor. Let me know what you guys thought of this recipe, and if you added anything extra to your avocado and egg bakes. Enjoy!

We all want to achieve beautiful, flawless, and natural looking skin, but finding the perfect foundation to help create this look can be very difficult. After using many different tinted moisturizers, BB creams, cream foundations, and regular foundations that never gave me the finish I wanted, I finally found the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation in SPF 15. Words can not even describe how happy I am that I stumbled upon my new all time favorite product.

*Just a little idea about my skin; I have combination/ dry skin and redness.*

Pros:
The foundation has a soft mousse-like feel that is light, but gives enough coverage to even the skin tone and hide the occasional blemish. The soft and fluffy texture of the foundation makes it really easy to blend into your skin and creates a very flawless look. The finish is a mix of matte and dewy, making it look very natural and skin-like. This foundation is also one of the best face makeup products I've used to complement my dry skin without making my face look too oily. I also love that it can last a good amount of the day (around 6 hours) before I need to touch up. Did I also mention that this foundation has SPF 15 in it?!

Cons:
Even though this Tarte foundation complements my dry skin, it's not exactly the number one product for dry skin. On days I slack on moisturizing, my skin will get patchy after applying the foundation. But as I mentioned before, out of all the other face products I have used, this Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation worked the best with my dry skin.

How I apply it:
I apply the foundation (almost) every morning, after moisturizing and priming my face. Although I have been using a liquid foundation brush to stipple the foundation onto my face, I recently discovered that using a wet sponge to apply the foundation works very well too. I use about a dime amount of the product to cover my whole face, but you can control how much product you need with the easy to squeeze tube.

I would definitely recommend this Tarte foundation in a heartbeat to anyone who is looking for a light to medium coverage for everyday face makeup. I have been using the foundation practically everyday for over five months, and still have about a half of the 1.7 oz tube left. As for the price, I think that 38$ for this Tarte foundation is completely worth it! The tube you buy will last a long time, the foundation gives such a great coverage, and it is absolutely wonderful for everyday use.

I hope you guys try out the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and love it as much as I do!

P.S. I determined my shade by going into Sephora and asking one of the workers to help me through the Color IQ service. My shade came out to be "Fair Sand", which was a very accurate match. You guys should check out this free service to see what shade will match you the best.

This post is a little late for those who are familiar with this subscription, but I just got home from college and was finally able to share my first impression of the PopSugar Must Have Box for May 2014.

I've had very mixed emotions with the PopSugar Must Have box I received. Although I absolutely love that the subscription includes fitness, beauty, health, etc. items, the reviewers were right when they said that the boxes are a hit or miss. When I researched a few of the previous boxes, some of them had awesome items, while others had mediocre items.

The subscription, in general, is $39.95 per month and includes nicely packaged, six full sized items with a booklet describing each product. These are the items in the May 2014 box. The retail prices I list are the prices I found from different sites via Google.

1. Zing Anything Citrus Zinger | Retail: $17

This item is my favorite in the box. I love adding fruit to my water, and this design is such an awesome way of extracting the juices from fruits directly into the bottle. I also really liked how the bottle is pink!

2. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pool Boy Nail Polish | Retail: $10

I have yet to use this nail polish, but the color is very summer-like and the brand, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, is a well known one. I never wear this type of neon, blue color, so it'll be interesting experimenting with it.

3. Smell Bent St. Tropez Dispenser | Retail: $45

I was a little disappointed with this item because I know that I will not be using this product often. It's labeled as a perfume, but the smell is not really a scent you would want to wear on yourself. I will admit that it does have a very nice mixed scent of the beach and sunscreen, but I would rather use it as an air freshener. I think I'll save it for hot summer days and spray it around the patio and inside the house.

4. Tone It Up! One Day Fat Blast | Retail: $10

PopSugar is making sure that all the subscribers are going to look bikini body ready for the summer! I haven't used this DVD yet, but I think it's a great idea to get a start on working out. I've read a few reviews online that the DVD is good for beginning a routine work out.

5. Kerry Cassill Eye Mask | Retail: $24

I don't really use sleeping masks but the design and feel of the cotton mask is nice. I ended up giving it to my mother since I know that I won't be using it.

6. Hi I'm Skinny Sticks in Multi-Grain Sweet Onion | Retail: $3

This sweet onion snack is actually really delicious! I was very surprised at how savory each piece was.

TOTAL COST OF ALL THE ITEMS: $109

In the end, I was pleased with my first PopSugar Must Have May 2014 box, but did not absolutely love it. The items in the box were much more than the subscription cost, which is definitely a plus, but the items were not exactly what I would have liked. I think that I would have stayed subscribed to experience some of the future boxes, but since the PopSugar boxes are a bit more on the pricier side, I've unsubscribed for now. Hopefully I'll be able to subscribe again soon and the next items will be more in my favor! Click on my link to subscribe to your own PopSugar Must Have Box.

P.S. I got my first month for $29.95 because I had a $10 off coupon. The one I used expired, but many people have been using the code "MODNIQUE" for $10 off. The code will only work for new customers.

FTC: The links I posted are referral links but these are my own opinions and I am not being paid to write about this subscription.

Although we should appreciate our mothers and mother figures everyday, Mother's Day is a day dedicated to celebrating everything they have done for us. In light of appreciating all that my mother has taught me, I'll be sharing five very important beauty and fashion tips that saved my life throughout the years.

1. "Master the circular motions."

My mother exfoliates her face and body every day to achieve radiating and wrinkle-free skin. The secret, which she stresses, is to exfoliate in soft circular motions. Whether it be your face or body, my mother says to apply product on a loofah or your hands and wash in circular motions. Make sure to wash in gentle motions because your skin is soft and delicate; getting rough with your skin by scrubbing too hard or using harsh scrubs can induce redness and increase chance of getting breakouts.

2. "Never over-tweeze your eyebrows."

I know this tip is a given, but it is so important! You know that saying, "once you start, you'll never stop"? Well, that saying was definitely meant for tweezing. To avoid over-tweezing, my mother taught me to tweeze once, then move away from the mirror to see your whole face, and repeat this till you're satisfied with how your brows look. Even though this seems tedious, it'll definitely help you avoid tweezing all of your eyebrows off!

3. "Know what looks good on you."

My mother taught me that knowing your body shape and the types of clothing that best flatters you is so important when you're choosing your clothing. Not only does this make it easier to shop, it can also help you find better fitting clothing. This doesn't mean that you should never branch out and wear other types of clothing, but having a set closet of flattering pieces can make you appear very put together. Plus, knowing what type of pieces flatter your body shape makes online shopping so much easier!

4. "The basic pieces are always the best pieces."

Having basic pieces in your closet is definitely a must! They can be found at many different stores, and are usually very cheap. My mother taught me the simplicity of throwing on accessories and a cardigan on top of a basic piece, like a tank or a v-neck, to create a fashionable and well-put together outfit.

5. "Smiling is the best accessory; but a little lip gloss wouldn't hurt."

My mother has always told me that smiling is the best accessory, and I completely agree. A smile can change the mood and brighten up your face! When paired with a sleek lip gloss, my mother says your smile can become the most expensive accessory you own.

These are the five beauty and fashion tips that my beautiful mother has been swearing by for years. I hope you found these tips as useful as I did, and enjoy your Mother's Day!

I have a weakness for free things, so after seeing the advertisement for a free first box from Julep on Facebook and Instagram, I quickly started my research on the legitimacy of the subscription. I've heard people raving about Julep nail polishes before, but never knew about their monthly subscription boxes. After reading many mixed reviews of the subscription, I took a leap of faith and signed up to become a Maven.

In order to become a Maven and receive your first free box for free, you have to be a new member and take a short style profile quiz. The quiz guides you to a certain direction in choosing a box that compliments your style, but you can browse through other ones and pick out the box you want. I got "Classy with a Twist Welcome Box" as a result of the quiz, but I chose the "Bombshell Welcome Box" because I preferred the nail polish colors in that box more.

I paid $3.20 for shipping and tax after using the promo code "freecolor", and received my package about 6 days after placing my order.

I must say that I was very content with the shipping, and how everything was neatly and carefully packed. Along with all of the products listed (the two nail polishes in full size and the cuticle serum), they included a freebie, which were two rectangular nail file blocks with the logo printed on them, and a 50% off coupon for a purchase on the website.

I was definitely impressed with the Julep box and will be staying subscribed for the next month. I'm hoping that the monthly subscription Julep Maven boxes will amaze me as much as this one did!
Click on my link to get your first Julep Maven Box for free, and have fun with your new goodies!

My boyfriend, Austin, of more than two years and I have been meaning to purchase a cologne and perfume for ourselves since we both ran out. We were doing our weekly stroll around the mall when I remembered that I had a 15% off ticket for being a Beauty Insider at Sephora. Instead of buying ourselves a cologne and perfume, we used the excuse of our "month-versary" and the discount to splurge a little and buy each other a cologne and perfume that we picked out for each other.

After spending hours in Sephora spritzing every scent that they had on our arms and the paper testers, we finally chose the ones we thought were the best match for each other. I chose the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme for him, and he chose the Flora By Gucci in Gorgeous Gardenia for me.

The Dolce & Gabbana cologne was the perfect blend of manly and classy. It is more on the sweeter side as compared to the other overbearing men's colognes, but since we both dislike that harsh, overbearing smell, this cologne was a very fitting pick.

The Flora By Gucci that Austin picked out for me has a very beautiful and sophisticated flowery smell. It is so versatile in that it can be used as an everyday perfume, but can also be taken as an evening, special occasion perfume. The bottle is also very classy and chic, which is always a plus.

We both really enjoyed picking out a cologne and perfume for each other, especially since the scent we picked out would be the smell that we'd be stuck smelling off of each other. Next time your significant other and yourself are at the mall, you should suggest doing a gift exchange of this sort. Relationships are about having fun and having both sides involved in each other's lives, and this was a cute little way of doing both.
I had the wonderful opportunity to work as an exhibitor on behalf of Wayne Goss and Beautylish!

I have never experienced anything like IMATS, but I am so glad that I did! It was such a great experience and a lot of fun. There were so many beautiful people who had a true passion for makeup! It was so lovely meeting beauties from all over the world, and seeing such a variation of styles.

Here are a few of the pictures I took during the show!
I hope you guys enjoyed these few random pictures I took from IMATS. I will be making a separate review for all the goodies I picked up during the show, so stay tuned for that! I will be receiving my own set of Wayne Goss brushes and will write a review for them very soon as well. Till next time!
Keeping makeup brushes clean and in good shape can be a hassle. Without proper storage and care, your makeup brushes can start to fray and accumulate harmful bacteria. After searching for a product that could protect my makeup brushes, I stumbled upon The Brush Guard.

These guards are tight, woven sleeves that you slip your brushes into, so that they squeeze the brush hairs, returning any fray hairs to their original place. You can read more about the benefits of the brush guard here. They also come in a variety of sizes, making it easy to use them on shadow, foundation, kabuki, etc. brushes. I have the variety pack, which is great since I have so many different sized brushes from different brands. The variety pack costs only $9.95 on Beautylish, a great, low price for a product that can extend the lifespan of my expensive brushes!

Personally, I slip these guards on my brushes whenever I'm not using my brushes, especially right after I wash my makeup brushes. I also slip them onto my brushes and throw them in my makeup bag when I need my brushes later in the day.

One huge tip I would give about these guards, however, is to be careful on how you use them. You're supposed to slip these guards from the bottom of the brush and pull them up until they cover the brush hairs. DO NOT slip them top to bottom, or else your brushes will become more frayed! I had to learn that the hard way...

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend looking into the brush guards and getting a variety pack for your brushes. I've been using them for about a month now, and can see my brushes going back to their original state. Although I can't really tell about the "bacteria fighting" portion of the guards, these guards are great for getting my brushes back in shape!
